I have Gynecomastia, it is a condition of large female like breasts on a male body. This is not caused by excessive weight in my case as I weight 165 lbs and am 6 ft tall..the weight problem one is callsed Psudo-Gynecomastia because it isn’t really gynecomastia. I was wondering who I can get help from to have surgery or help my self image. I don’t get involved in social activity or have a job because I used to be teased in school all the time which caused me to go into hiding for years. I am 24 now still living at home and can’t find anyone to help me, I don’t know what to do. I tried to force myself to get over it but I can’t, I did wear an ace bandage to compress them flat and that gave me a large confidence boost but those are so uncomfortable to wrap around me. I just wish to look like a normal male, any ideas?
I Know certain conditions or drug use can cause this, I have never taken drugs and I am not sure if I have a bad liver or hyper thyroid but this is what I am wondering, what charity can help me as I do not have money.
I have researched the condition for several years, I know plastic surgery can solve it but thats like $5000 or so which I do not have, I’ve tried talking to charities before they just ignore me. I wrote to Oprah and she ignored me, I wrote to dr phil and he ignored me, I have no insurance this is why I am seeking charity help. Sorry I did not make this clear before =\

At the tale end of this year she began to ask why she wasn’t pretty like the rest of the girls. She is only 4 years old and I somehow thought that this subject would come up later in her life. But how do I convert the words on the page to improvement. The problem is that by reading something that it just doesnt become gospel and become stone in your head. I still have those negative thoughts and no matter how hard I try to get rid of them they always resurface no matter how many books I may read.

So My question is, how do I take what I read in a self help book and make some permanent change in my behavior.

Is affirmations the only way?

The way I see it, self-improvement is an illusion based on the perpetuation of an ego ideal…the futile grasping for some ideal self-image we’re supposed to become or working towards becoming. Negative aspects of ourselves have become that way from a sheer lack of self-acceptance and love of the very deficiencies, flaws and imprefections that the ego-ideal loathes.
