I am a do it your self person and need to do some rust repair done on my car on my. Can any one give me some tips on materials to use and where I might get them. And where I can buy or check out a book on auto body repair. I own a 1988 Toyota Celica with only 134000 miles on it and would like to make this 20 year old car look nice again. Can anyone help?

the whole secret is cleanliness-its like cleaning a wound .
cut or grind out ALL the old rusty bits.if these are load bearing or important they must be replaced with steel ie welded if cosmetic ie door panelsetc a fibre glass and filler repair will do.there are loads of books for this with pictorial examples.try a small area or repair first. but remember no matter how good a job you make of the repair matching the paint is just always pure luck.but go for it!there is nothing more satisfying than having done it yourself!

KBS Coatings is a great brand for sealing rust. Check out their website for details or look for their booth at most car shows.
